the Alresford Ukulele Jam @ the Swan Hotel 13th Oct
The new PA was put through its paces last night with a rendition of various covers including Riptide, Budapest, This Train, Hey Ya, Time warp, Man of Constant Sorrow, and Jolene to name but a few.
The Xmas set is coming along nicely and we are getting ready for our first holiday gig at the end of November. Put it in your diaries 28th November from 12noon at Sunhill Infants School.
New songs included songs from Cat Stevens and a new favourite My old man’s a dustman went down rather well.
The big book of noise vol 2 is well and truly coming together and will be available to download from the Songs page.
Change of venue
The AUJ are now looking to move their home for the winter after a good few months at the Swan Hotel and previously at the Globe prior to that move.
It is possible we have a new venue sorted for the rest of the winter more news on that when it is confirmed.
Our 1st Birthday
Yes it has really been a year since our first gig in 2014. Over the last year we have played pretty much everywhere in the town. Some gigs worked others fell a little flat. Some really enjoyable time was had at the music festivals we played at this year. It was an honour to open the Alresford Music Festival, play to the crowds at Medstock and CrawleyFest.
We put on a workshop at the Alresford Show this year and encouraged people (young and old) to play along with us.
The year hasn’t finished and we have the holiday everyone loves still to come.
We are open to offers of gigs for a donation to charity we are happy to bash out crimbo songs, Carols (traditional and not so traditional) and a host of great songs from rock to modern pop.
Please do get in contact for December and January.
